The first component in our PASS program is “Hi-tech Commercialization”. This component will be implemented with our 5 university partners, and assistance of the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology MTIT. It is mean to introduce to Palestinian Universities and undergraduate students, particularly, in the business/economics and engineering/IT departments the concept of ‘commercialization’, its benefits and importance to advance their education in the short-term, and to contribute to the development of the private sector in Palestine in the long-term.

This is the first intensive Hi-tech Commercialization program to be implemented within Palestinian universities at this scale. It is meant to be beneficial generally for universities, and specifically for students. The university will benefit from introducing and advancing their “Technology Transfer Offices – TTOs”, and introducing new methodologies to interact their student bodies. Students on the other hand, will get the chance to come up with technological ideas, learn how to advance them, receive funding to do so, create minimum viable products, and introduce them into the markets.

The program will assist 30 Student-teams for 5 universities to compete against each other and commercialize their products. The end result will allow the 10 winning teams to receive investment to penetrate the market.
